After our crazy busy weekend, the last thing I wanted to do when I woke up this morning was go to the grocery.. so I didn’t. I sat at the kitchen table and lettered the addresses on Rhett’s birthday invites. I think they turned out really pretty & I didn’t have any mess-ups–score! So now that I’ve finished those & done my housework, I’m going to relax a little bit and save the grocery trip for once Rhett wakes from his nap.
Here’s what we have planned for the week:
Steaks w/ Sautéed Mushrooms & Baked Potatoes
Thai turkey meatballs (new!)
Avocado, Mozzarella Bruschetta Chicken
Spicy Peanut Noodles
Bleu Cheese Burgers & Roasted Cauliflower
The only recipe new to me is one my friend passed on, so I’m excited to try that! And the other two recipes I’ve linked to I have made before, but have yet to mention here on one of these weekly posts. Both are amazingly delicious & for sure crowd-pleasers! Steaks & burgers are also on the menu, but I figured you probably wouldn’t need recipes for those haha.
I’m off to go make myself an iced coffee & sit out on the patio until you-know-who wakes. May your coffee be strong and Monday short!
Tomorrow morning we are getting up early to drive up to Ann Arbor to do some shopping & hit the IKEA which is only 30 minutes from there.. I’m so excited! I have my shopping list all ready and can’t wait to finally finish off the patio decor. Plus, who doesn’t love shopping at IKEA? I’m such a visual person so their strategy definitely works for me. These two books are on my reading list early start potty training and elimination communication.. because hey, I’m all for diaper-less babies!
Raw Apple Cider Vinegar has lots and lots of health benefits, so I recently started adding it to my diet. The first time I took a shot of it straight up and about puked. Ha! It was so so sour & awful. Then I searched for a recipe that would make it taste better.. I settled on a recipe of 2T ACV, 1t honey, 1/3 cup pineapple juice & a dash of cinnamon which makes it edible, but I still have to down it as quick as I can.
This article on self-awareness suggests 12 exercises that can fuel happiness and success.. I’m going to try playing devils advocate with myself! Sounds hard, but I think it could be good for me.

You know the feeling when you’ve seen something or heard something multiple times & you think, is this a just coincidence or is it a sign? This week I’ve read a version of the “do it now” quote three separate times from totally different sources. So I asked myself when I read it again this morning, is this sign? Maybe it is. I guess the only way to find out is choose to either listen or brush it off. As I thought about what “do it now” means, I have to decide how big that “it” is. Is it to sell everything we have and travel the world? Or splurge on a treat every once in a while?
I’d say it’s somewhere between the two. And because I’m an idealist-realist (yes I made that up) who loves to make lists, I have for you today the 30 before 30 list that I wrote when I turned 23.. in no particular order.

Obviously I’ve already done some of these, but I didn’t want to ruin the list by striking through them.. so all that’s left to do is to decide if I’m going to listen or brush it off. Maybe it was that I was supposed to write this so YOU’D get up and do something?!
